How much does storage cost?

Working out how much self-storage will cost is a tricky question!

In our experience you'll need less space than you think you do.

Try and give yourself a budget per week for storage and work to that.

For example, £20 per week (320cubic or 40square feet) you will get beds, mattress, sofa, white goods and boxes up to the size of a 2 bedroom property.

Invest in a few carboard boxes and make sure they are full to the top and the lids close.

Throw away anything you don't want to store at the local dump (HWRC – household waste recycling centre)

After you have boxed and sorted out your belongings, you are ready to look at storage prices and will have a much better idea of how much space you'll need.

If you are storing for a few months, then you might consider a larger storage unit so you can get in and move stuff about if you want to.
